China Association for Science and Technology is a non-government organization for Chinese scientific and technological workers and the mass organization under the leadership of Communist Party of China (CPC). It works as the bridge and band connecting the CPC and Chinese government with the scientific and technological workers, and the major force for the state to promote the development of national science and technology.
The China Association for Science and Technology is composed of national associations, societies, seminars, as well as local associations for science and technology and other fundamental organizations.
The local association for science and technology is composed of the same level society and lower level association for science and technology, as well as relevant fundamental organizations.
Up to now, China Association for Science and Technology has 210 national associations and 3141 local associations in total, including 32 provincial associations, 32 vice-provincial and provincial capital city associations, 381 municipal associations, and 2696 county-level associations.
